My 2008 Resolutions

I’ve been spending some time thinking about my wishes and resolutions for the Year of the Rat (according to the Chinese calendar xD) after listing down my thanks for 2007, and unlike my usual procrastinating not-taking-anything-seriously self, I want to make resolutions that I can and will fulfill (and not filling it up with crack like GETTING AS MANY ARASHI ITEMS or MARRYING SHO-CHAN xD). So I’ve been prompted to write out my resolutions after reading Reiji-chan’s new year resolutions, which is pretty similar to mine (Arashi fangirls think alike xD). Okay here’s it. Brace yourself because it’s really loooooong I rant too much XD:

- TASHIICHAAN’S NEW YEAR RESOLUTION -

1) Work harder and concentrate on my studies – I’d been neglecting my school work and studies a lot last year (Arashi wasn’t the culprit, yet), due to my apathy and underestimation towards school. My parents weren’t happy, and I felt terrible because I didn’t try hard enough, knowing I could do so much better (I used to get regular A’s for Maths, but last year I didn’t and it sucks D:<). This year I’ll be sitting for government exams that’re practically life-changing, so I want to work really hard and achieve excellent grades so Sho-chan would be proud of me xD

2) Spend less time obsessing over my Arashi boys – I wasn’t really addicted to my computer before I fell helplessly into the Arashi fandom around mid-Sep. I mean, I love my boys and all, but ever since school holidays started I’d been living in this snowglobe world of my own and Arashi, that I didn’t really expose myself outside, you know? I took on a holiday job for a month and half to occupy myself, but I seriously need to get out more. (I’M SO SORRY BOYS XD)

3) My Arashi fandom would last throughout the year – I’m the sort of person who’s really fickle, someone who likes changes and new things in my life. Yeah, I’m adventurous. So normally when I’m obsessed with something, it’d die down after a short while because I crave something new (although in my defence my Harry Potter fandom lasted for years :3). I don’t want the same thing to curse my Arashi fandom, because I love them. Not as in the creepy stalkerish obsessing, but because I truly love their music and their fanservice. They aren’t so god-like and perfect like how celebrities make themselves (*cough*KodaKumi*cough*), but just normal people who make up crack jokes and aren’t afraid to pick their nose in front of the camera. They make me laugh and that’s what I want to last, not because it’s just a simple, unimportant obsession.

4) Continue to learn and practise Japanese – I’ve been exposed to Japanese through anime for more than 10 years now, but I’ve never truly considered learning it seriously until I met Hana Yori Dango, Jun-kun and Arashi, in that order xD I’ve been taking lessons online, but not consistently since I tend to slack off. My dad’s encouraging me to go to a Japanese school though, but my mom says only after my government exams, which wouldn’t be until the end of the year T_T So in the meantime, I hope to continue learning it and build my confidence around the language. Also (oooh this is such an encouragement xD) at least my family wouldn’t worry about language barrier if we EVER EVAR go to Japan for a vacation XD XD

5) Dedicate myself fully to the school magazine – since I’ve been appointed editor. I love being a part of the process in designing and producing the magazine (I’ve always thought of working for a magazine in future), especially contributing to the graphics designing and the English section. It’s frustrating work (experienced it first hand last year as sub-editor) but I just love it so much, that I want to add in my own effort. Besides, any moody days can be cured with Arashi bubbly songs (THANK YOU SHO-CHAN FOR THE SMEXY HUSKY RAPS ARASHI FOR THE HAPPINEEEEES~!)

6) WRITE. MORE. – For yeaaars and yeaaaars I’ve been battling writer’s block that I make it sound like a deadly disease (scientists have yet to develop a cure for it). I love writing, be it fiction or short stories or fanfics, because English is an awwwwesome language and my imagination gets really wild and creative that I always feel the need to pen it down. However, my writer’s block completely ruins the fun D:< I can NEVER get pass Chapter 1 due to my paranoia and neurotic perfectionist self. But recently I’ve been able to write a Sho fanfic (coming soon end of January! xD) till Chapter 8 and it’s so enlightening, finally being able to write without any hesitation.

7) Meet moaaaaar Arashi fangirls – Not that I don’t love you enough, Sakura-chan, Pyrefly, LadyXS and kamometojo (did I spell it right? xD). Remember our crazy fangirl-shrieks-filled Friday night over Aiba’s radio show, Pairu-chan and Reiji-chan? xD That was really fun, and it really makes the fandom more exciting when sharing it with more people, yeah? On the other side, I really love all of you for the visits and neverending comments you leave on my bloggeh, no matter what crap I write xD TASHIICHAAN WUVS YOU! (btw, kamo, Sakura-chan, ADD ME ON MSN. NOW. Aiba-chan would be shocked by our squealing and flailing XD yumi-akimoto[at]hotmail[dot]com :3)

8) Convince my parents to go on a holiday to Tokyo Disneyland in Chiba and drag them along to Keikarou restaurant - It’s an impossible resolution. T_T

9) Write and complete more Arashi fanfics – because I just love writing stories about the boys and their love lives xD By the way – any fanfic requests? I already have completely Fangirl one-shot (of me, LadyXS and Pyrefly attacking Arashi’s dressing room XD), a Sho fic in process, a fangirl ficcie sequel in process, and a Jun fic still in the works. (Kamo-chan would you like a smexyfied Nino dream? XD XD) Requests are open – just send me an email. But please, don’t stalk me with painfully unoriginal plots like, “An American girl who’s pretty and nice and perfect and soo Mary Sue goes to Japan as a successful business expatriate and gets the boys to fall on their knees at her smexyfying beauty”. DO YOU REALISE HOW MANY FREAKIN’ ARASHI FANFICS OUT THERE HAVE THE SAME BLOODY PLOT?! D:< My hatred for those fics run almost as deep as despising Bakanishi.

ANYWAYS – *cough*. New school term starts tomorrow. I’m already packing my books and preparing my uniform and such. Unlike previous years, I’m quite excited for the first day of school, because it’s my last year in secondary/high school. They say memories of their school years are always the sweetest and unforgettable, so I want to enjoy it as much before I get kicked into the real world of independence. Oohohohoho.

Have a great year, guys! Reiji-chan have a good time returning to school next week *ebil grin* My birthday’s coming up in 2 weeks yeyyyyyy~! (I love the fact my birthday’s just 2 weeks before Sho-chan’s xD) I have yet to convince my family and my best friend to buy me Arashi items for my tanjoubi purezento, and I shall not faaiiiiiil.

Everybody say LOVE, LOVE LOOOOVE

Remember the New Year theme song that all the smexy JE boys sang at the Johnny’s Countdown 2007-2008?

It’s up for download at Clubbox! But since Clubbox hates me and curses me on everlasting slow connection speed, Reiji-chan – being such a star and always so Arashi-fangirl providing XD – has uploaded the song on MediaFire! I LOVE YOU REIJI-CHAN I’D MARRY YOU IF I’M NOT ENGAGED TO MY KEIO BOY XD You can download the file here, credits to LadyXS! (steal and you shall face not only her wrath, but miiine *inserts evil evil rabid fangirl laugh*)

The song’s called Hatsu Uta, which literally translates as The First Song (of the new year???), and sang by EVERY JE band (excluding SMAP who wasn’t in the 10 years of Johnny’s Entertainment reign, and Hey!Say!JUMP because having them perform in the middle of the night and getting constantly molested by their senpais would get Johnny-san charged with child labour XD). It’s such a beautiful song – not only because it’s gives me this sort of bright prospect to facing the new year, but the boys sang it so beautifully and happily like one big happy loving family. I even cried when they were performing it at the end of the countdown (”=
