For the past few weeks, I can’t help but notice someone has been searching feverishly on Google with entries like “Matsumoto Jun’s girlfriend” or “Arashi girlfriend rumours”, and ending up at my humble bloggeh XD I knooooooow very well it’s those rabid Arashi-obsessed fangirls (seriously, the intense obsession) who are determined to fish out any secret information whether any of the Arashi boys are dating so they can fly over to Japan in furiously burning jealousy and murder the poor girlfriend and maybe at the same time kidnap Jun. Or you’re just curious xD
So, to satisfy the fangirls’ intensely obsessive curiosity about Matsumoto Jun’s single/taken status, I’ve done a little research on the god-forbid rumours that have previously plagued our lovely golden Arashi boy.
BE WARNED - if you’re one of those sad little fangirls whose life ambition is to marry Jun-kun and will seriously shriek in hurt/anger/jealousy/pain/despair if he has a girlfriend, I suggest you don’t continue. These may just be rumours, but then again I don’t want crazy jealous rabid fangirls spamming my Comments section with “THEY CAN’T BE DATING NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I WILL KILL HER!!!!!”. Honestly! These are just RUMOURS, which obviously means they do not have 100% accuracy, and should definitely be taken with a pinch of salt. =_=
With that said, onwards my friends!
Rumoured Girlfriend no.1 – Kitagawa Keiko
Jun-kun was linked to Kitagawa Keiko (from the movie, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift) when a supposed photog-captured photo of her and a mystery man kissing in a car was published in a tabloid mag early 2007. The mystery man had an uncanny resemblance to Jun, and same goes to Keiko.

Keiko was also previously linked to Yamashita Tomohisa (Yamapi~) from NEWS – where a very clear photo of them kissing was published – and also to Kamenashi Kazuya of KAT-TUN. Keiko (and Jun) have claimed that they’ve never met each other before.
Rumoured Girlfriend no.2 – Suzuki Emi
This rumour began spreading when a witness claimed that Emi was seen with Jun, drinking at 1am in a Shibuya cafe, and seated quite intimately to each other. It is also rumoured that Emi was introduced to Jun through Eikura Nana, Jun’s co-star in his early ‘07 movie, Boku Wa Imouto Ni Koi Wo Suru (I’m In Love With My Sister). Among JE boys’ fans, Emi is deemed a ‘JE Whore’, due to the frequent rumours of her dating/seen with countless JE boys.
Rumoured Girlfriend no.3 – Inoue Mao
Yay for Mao-chan~! XD Hana Yori Dango fans would definitely know what I’m talking about. Mao is Jun’s co-star in the highly popular Japanese doramas, Hana Yori Dango season 1 & 2, and in almost every interview and behind-the-scenes, Mao and Jun interact with such intimacy and closeness that fans suspect their ‘friendliness’. They’re so comfortable with each other and have such a good chemistry between them, that fans might even believe they’re dating in secrecy. Remember the behind-the-scenes video of Jun presenting a bouquet of flowers to Mao-chan? And she ran to him and hugged him and Jun opened his arms wide to receive her? Jun also doesn’t hesitate to have some ’skinship’ with Mao-chan, which is VERY rare unless he’s very, very close to the person. I mean seriously, this is Jun I-NEED-MY-PERSONAL-SPACE-*#$^%-OFFFFFFF we’re talking about! XD
Rumoured Girlfriend no.4 – Nakama Yukie
Yes, Yukie and Jun starred in the ‘02 J-dorama, Gokusen. Well, I didn’t really get much information about this connection xD But all I know is that they were linked for some time after their dorama, all the way to ‘05 when they just didn’t see each other much anymore since then. =S

I’m one of those fans who’d feel a pang of jealousy of girlfriend, but then wish them well (and no news of girlfriend = good news! xD)
Actually, spazzing fangirls at the news of their Idol dating is quite common. See, in Japan aidoru are seriously idols – good-looking, sing well, perfect/charming character, pure and definitely available. Girls/guys worship them and idolize them so badly, and agencies exploit that fact by making aidoru have a ’single’ status so that the fans feel they have ‘all of the aidoru’ to themselves (in their dreams looool). Agencies also think aidoru get more attention/publicity when they’re ‘pure’ AKA not taken. (Well that’s particularly contradictory when it comes with our fave JE boy KimuTaku <3)
It’s weird/odd/strange, but it’s the Japanese’s point of view and their mentality. I kinda throw myself into hysterics when I come across a post of fangirls screaming and crying when their idol is dating (rumoured or not) or married. Remember the time when Inochi of V6 announced that he was getting married? *rolls eyes*

Fact is no matter how we (the fans) cry and go crazy about our beloved idols having a girlfriend we can’t do anything about it. They’re still human beings like us who long for love and care from the opposite sex. It’s really freaky how some fans go to the extreme like flooding the rumored gf’s site with hateful messages and stalking them like some psycho-killer. Dating is normal. It would be more surprising if they have not dated anybody ever since, right? But then again if they really have not, people will try to question their sexuality and will think that they’re homosexuals. How weird can it get?

im a new fan of jun. Im from the philippines. His show hana yori dango season 2 is showing here every weekdays at 6pm. The first time i watch jun acting is on gokusen but i really had taken noticed him when he played domyuji on hana yori dango.
I dont know about you guys but i really think that he is so amazing and so talented. I was hoping that someday he would visit here in the philippines because he is so popular in here!!

Hi! I’m new around here but I’ve been a Matsujun fan ever since I was 22 (I’m nearly out of the Roman calendar right now so I won’t bother posting my real age, hehe). I’d like to contribute to the “speculations” about Jun’s girlfriends, having nosed around the web, purchased mags, scouring youtube interviews, and literally hounding my cousin who lives in Tokyo to send me updates. Anyway, Nakama Yukie was never his girlfriend. It just so happened she was going out with a popular racer also named Matsumoto Jun around the same time Gokusen was being filmed. As to Mao, she was also never his girlfriend. Whatever they did behind the scenes was because Jun, in one TS mag, said that Mao was a lot like a “little sister” to him. As for Keiko, that pic was indeed controversial, however, Johnny’s spokesperson in one mag stated that a lot of the JE boys can look like each other if given the same hairstyle and placed in a semi-dark room. Sho and Jun for one are at times being confused especially if dressed in similar outfits and situated at a rather far distance. It’s only when Jun would start walking that you would realize, “hey, that’s Jun!.” The only closest link I could follow in the TS mag (it was in Japanese so I had to translate for months on end!) was Jun’s open declaration that he “had” a non-showbiz girlfriend before. Whether he is still seeing her now leaves much room for doubt.
In any case, isn’t that a bit of good news for us? I’m like any other pathetic fangirl. I’m still floating in that fantasy cloud that well, maybe I still have a shot at Jun *laughs maniacally.* I know it’s worse than mission impossible but hey, I can dream, right?

There’s this status for celebrities called ‘Idol’, where they’re portrayed as good-looking, lovable, charming, talented, everything perfect. Idols (or aidoru in Japanese) don’t have to sing or dance well, but as long as they’re pretty/handsome and can sell themselves for their fans. Their career’s practically built on their popularity and their fanbase. Hence, whatever they do are only to please their fans. So along the line, idols are not encouraged to date, mainly because they want idols to maintain this “pure, single” image to live up to the fans’ dreams (would you want your idol to be dating a woman? XD), as well as not risk any controversy and fangirl hate. It’d sound very odd and possibly ridiculous, but that’s how the Japanese industry goes.

If Johnny’s aren’t allowed to have a girlfriend in the eyes of the public then when will they be allowed to get married then? Isn’t it unfair to them?
It’s unfair, but they understand the rules and conditions that apply to them the moment they decided to join Johnny’s. It’s all in the part of being an idol. It may seem unjustified when looking in a non-Japanese perspective, but to be honest the Japanese don’t find it anything wrong.
Besides, JE boys aren’t NOT ALLOWED to marry, just that they’re not encouraged to until at least when they’re certain they’ve stamped their status as ultimate idols.

It wouldn’t surprise me that Jun has already had a girlfriend(s). He’s almost 25, good looking, and is a great guy who’s achieved a lot over his life. I’ve seen Hanadan 1& 2 bout 20x already and I could say that Mao-chan and Jun-chan had developed their closeness over the period they are shooting the dorama. first difference – opening scene season 2- Jun glanced at mao twice before the scene ends. Jun’s aura glows more in scenes with mao-chan, a bit more than just acting. Mao-chan too tends to smile more than necessary. Looking at some promo clips – the ones with games Jun-chan tends to show-off a bit if he’s teamed with Mao-chan. One more thing the wedding kiss in their movie . . . 12 seconds and that’s not just smack like in the HANADAN dorama, i think its more intimate (very natural) or maybe its only my imagination?

Ah, AmyRose, a fan after my own heart. I also believe Mao is as close to perfect for Jun than any of other aforementioned actresses. For one, from all the timse we have watched them together, she doesn’t act like she idolizes him and puts him on a pedestal like other actresses who throw themselves at Jun. She’s smart, a college graduate, and brave. She has a spirit that transforms Jun from the DoS personality we are used to seeing to someone who looks more relaxed and happy. By the same token, he is a hardworker and he has encouraged her time and time again, such as in Tokyo Friends Park when they were on the threadmill and he said, “gambatte, ne,”. They are perfect for each other, and I hope they make it.
i’m always amused by those fangirls who talk about murdering [insert celebrity here]’s girlfriends and go around spreading rumors and talking trash about them. it’s not like they’ll ever get to date him or anything, i doubt he would want to date someone like that, and it’s pointless to be so jealous. xP

About the firs and second, they were never really any response or connection between them… they may have cross paths but that’s it.
About Mao-chan… well, I am a faithfull fan of this “maybe” couple, I wish from the bottom of my heart they are for real but only time will tell.
Also, it’s true they do have a good relationship and share “skinship” which is totally weird for Jun even among ARASHI members (who had made comments about Jun’s touchy feeling with Mao).
Lastly, Yukie-chan. To me this rumor just started because at the time Jun said in an interview he liked older woman and he was working with Nakama Yukie-chan. 1 + 1 = paparrazi frenzy.

hahahah….JUN well..i wont comment on those rumors.. basically it said that its a rumor..or maybe not..and because i’m a fangirl w/c would JUN would never be mine at all..but what i’m really having a problem is how to celebrate JUN’s birthday…well i kinda thinking of buying a cake and sing a birthday song, along with myself (that would make me a total BAKA)..

hi, this is the username i use in lj. ahahaha, you are so right. the reason i was searching is because of observations i had with shows they had with becky recently. or this year. there was the VSA episode and recently the VIP Room episode. i just think there is something more and i just want to know because they do look good together!!! =D (it’s like barbie & f4 hua tse lei — okay i forgot his real name) i mean, the VIP episode was soooo…. i could not pinpoint if it’s jun and becky dating or jun and nino know someone that beckyis dating. which led to this rabid search (again) on the net. i wish it would be the two of them. i just am curious because the rumors re sho and newscaster gf as well as nino and masami turned out to be true. i just want to read a wee bit into the matsujun becky angle. =D thanks!
