How To Propose To Your Girlfriend

Wait, don’t scoff at me just yet! Alright, this post/article isn’t meant to be taken seriously… BUT. You could actually learn a thing or two from these guys. xD.

Aiba-kun
A definite no to his method! Especially when you’re suggesting to get married at a Vegas-ish 24-hour marriage service. That isn’t romantic, AT ALL. Although you might pull it off if you’re as cute and funny and sincere as Aiba. Your girlfriend’ll probably slap you before she accepts your proposal. xD.

Sho-kun
“My heart has been frozen for 5 years… please click on my heart.” NO to corny/cheesy lines. You can touch your girl’s heart without having to come up with twisted versions of asking her to marry you! She may be the most understanding person in the world, but proposals have to be sweet and touching, no? Be more original, or better – just be yourself! Even a simple “Will you marry me?” is better than that.

Nino-chaaan
Confidence is important, and Nino really pulled it off with lots of it! And his proposal is definitely heartwarming – very subtle in indicating a proposal but a sweet one nonetheless! Have a certain limit of drama, and add in sincerity, confidence and lots of love, and that proposal of yours is a high-flying success. Don’t try to be too casual, though – your girl might think you’re not being serious about it. Even if you’re dropping hints, aim properly!

Jun-kuuun
By far the best proposal among the five. Why? He melts my heart. xD. He’d definitely melt any girl’s heart and she’d accept straight on. He expresses his wish to spend the rest of his life with his girl very clearly. He doesn’t rush in saying the words, and in fact says the right words with seriousness. There’s perfect timing too – right after a home-made dinner, and he exudes honesty and sincerity. Jackpot! Your girl’s already charmed, and most likely the proposal will make her cry. Awwwh~

Ohno-kun
DON’T. DO. THAT. As much as the audience in the video votes for him, DO NOT FOLLOW HIM. Yeah, it’s funny how Ohno-kun proposes (I’d accept that proposal!!! Loool.) , and so what if it works in Asian dramas?! Reality says your girlfriend will kill you if you propose Ohno-style. Never be rude and brash and sudden. Marriage is serious, y’know!

Conclusion
How should you propose to your girlfriend?

Simple. Just be yourself. Don’t try to be ‘cool’ or suave, your girlfriend is dating you because she loves you for who you are! Propose in your own way – but with sincere and honest words, and let her know how much you love her and want your relationship to progress to the next step – marriage.

You might wanna try Jun-kun-style or Nino-style to touch her heart – but make sure you don’t stutter and don’t show any doubts, or it’ll all fail! You can even get down on one knee with a ring and blurting out, “Will you marry me?”, it’s not original because, heck, everyone does it. Want the proposal to be extra proposal? Be creative!

You gotta acknowledge all the conditions of marriage, too – are you financially-independant? Do you think marriage is the definite next step in your relationship? Are you both really meant for each other? Is she ready to settle in with you? Don’t brashly propose just because you’re head over heels – love isn’t enough to maintain a relationship, you gotta work hard and accept each other’s flaws! After all, that’s part of being soulmates. =)
